* El prestigio y crecimiento en Europa del tour de Francia y
el Giro de Italia, ambos con origines desde periódicos locales
de importancia en cada país, simplemente en la búsqueda de mayor
circulación, hicieron que España no fuese diferente. Juan Pujol
en 1935 fue la persona en el diario informaciones, que empujase
a la creación de lo que hay es la vuelta. Las característica son
similares ente las tres grandes, con tres semanas de competencia
y grandes etapa claves de montaña, donde en la mayoría de los
casos se define el ganador. La distribución de camisas en las

Deloor, y el primer español en ganarla fue Julián Berrendero en
1941. Debido a las diferentes guerras, en once ocasiones no se
presento el evento. Del continente americano solamente dos han
tenido el privilegio de llevarse la victoria; en 1987 el
colombiano Lucho Herrera fue el primero, seguido por el
norteamericano Chris Horner en el 2013.
La edición numero ochenta, tiene un coctel interesante, Astana
trae al equipo más fuerte, con una cuarteta de lujo: Nibali, Aru,
Landa y Sánchez. Mikel y Fabio vienen ya descansados del Giro,
un Vincenzo un poco agotado del Tour, y Luis León que soltó al
final en Burgos. En potencia como equipo le sigue Movistar con
Valverde, Quintana y Amador. Alejandro lo entrego todo en el
tour, y posiblemente no le alcance para ganar la vuelta; Andrey
ya recuperado del Giro y de su caída en su tierra natal, serán
la clave para el Murciano o para el colombiano, que en el caso
de que tenga que tomar las riendas del equipo, tiene grandes
posibilidades de llevarse la victoria, ya que en el tour llego
al 100% de su forma en la tercera semana y todavía tiene mucha
cuerda. La participación de Froome y debido al agotamiento del
Tour, apunta a que a mitad de camino le entregue las riendas del
equipo a Mikel Nieve. “Purito” Rodríguez (Katusha), Van Gardener
(BMC), Pozzovivo (AG2R) y Dombrowski (Cannondale) son el resto
de aspirantes al título, los cuales están muy cautelosos a la
espera de cómo se dicte el ritmo de carrera.
