*40+ This early into the New Year and everybody is riding
strong. A break of 11 riders got away from the pack. Trujillo
for a couple a laps went into a solo from the eleven, but was
brought back. At the same time Potter jumped from the pack and
closed the gap. But at his arrival, Trujillo and Coleman took
off and no one followed. Coleman from ZMotion team wins the
race, followed by Trujillo; the field sprint was for Potter also
from ZMotion.
*50+ We got nicely surprised, this category brought lots of
new riders this year, also in good shape and ready to race. The
usual solo attempts happened for the first half of the race
without success, between Lincoln from Bike America and Ernest
from ZMotion, they make sure no one got away. About 20 minutes
left, Angel and Phanord got away, but after strong pull from
Phanord, told Angel go. One lap to go Angel got cut, and the
final sprint was for Carlos from VeloMasters team, second place
was for Rosenthal, followed by Julien.
*Pro 1, 2, 3 First duet of the day was Kroupa and Luis, but
team Cocos was ready no to let any one get away. The front of
the pack had a distinctive green locomotive driving a high pace
pack. Between five to six Cocos riders well coordinated managed
to do the final lead out, for the last twenty meters wheel by
wheel, side by side, Pol and Guttenplan, fought for the finish
line, it was fast for the naked eye, no one knew who won; but
the final bike throw gave the victory for a couple of inches to
Gutteplan.
*Cat 4&5 A newly form Rossetti team was determinate no to let
any one win this race. Any attempt or break was managed by them.
Lap after lap a light solid blue jersey was at front. Finally
about forty minutes into the race Cristia broke-away, were chase
by Garcia without success. The gap kept increasing to win in a
solo. Final lap for the pack gave us the first crash of the
year, fortunately nothing series, Sean took second place
followed by Salas.
