* Empezó la carrera en la etapa más difícil de la vuelta.
Cuarto premio de montaña, fuera de categoría y Froome ha soltado,
mientras que Astana mantiene un paso fuerte para que no pueda
pegar, y así Aru tiene una preocupación menos. Al frente a más
de cuatro minutos Astana también domina la carrera con paso
impuesto por Landa, Atapuma ha hecho un trabajo impresionante
para mantenerse al frente. Movistar deja que los azulejos hagan
el trabajo, simplemente Valverde y Quintana se sientan a rueda.
Siete al frente, y diecinueve en el grupo de los líderes. Todos
en un descenso bastante técnico, en camino al ascenso mas "fácil
del día" cortó y de categoría dos. La normalidad vuelve después
del descenso intenso. Atapuma soltó del frente en la descolgada,
mientras que once persiguen incluyendo a los favoritos, Purito,
Fabio, Alejandro, Nairo y Johan. Pozzovivo a un paso fuerte trae
a ocho corredores mas, incluyendo al líder, ahora son diecinueve
a dos minutos persiguiendo al grupo de seis en cabeza de carrera.
Empezó la danza de los pedales, entramos al último ascenso, por
ahora Astana tiene la ventaja, uno en la escapada, y tres en el
grupo que persigue. Aru ataca, Purito y Moreno pegan, Quintana
espera por Valverde e impone paso en búsqueda de reconectar, no
le aguantan el paso y continúa en solitario, ha salido muy tarde
y no le va a alcanzar. Fabio ataca y suelta a los dos de Katusha.
El colombiano es alcanzado y pasado, por la cuarteta que lleva
el líder, a la vez Valverde suelta también. Dumoulin le pide a
Chaves que le ayude, pero se niega. Faltan tres kilómetros y la
general va a dar una vuelta completa. Uno dos para Astana, el
hombre del día fue Aru que ahora se viste de rojo. Los
perdedores del hoy Movistar y Sky. Purito diseño la etapa, pero
solo le alcanzó para el quinto puesto en la etapa, y segundo en
la general. Así fue como el hombre con las piernas más frescas
en la vuelta toma el liderato en la etapa más difícil de esta
versión española.
* The race started at the hardest stage of La Vuelta. Fourth
mountain passage outside of category and Froome has been
dropped, while Astana impose a strong pace so he cannot
reconnect, and so Aru has one less contender to worry. In front,
at four minutes ahead Astana also dominates the race with a pace
done by Landa, Atapuma has done an impressive job to stay ahead.
Movistar let the guys in light blue do the work, Valverde and
Quintana simply sit on their wheels. Seven riders ahead and
nineteen chasing the group of leaders. All of them now within a
very technical descent, on their way to the “easiest climb of
the day” a category two ascent. By now Astana has the advantage,
one on the breakaway, and three in the chasing group. Aru
attacks, Purito and Moreno get to him, Quintana waits for
Valverde and imposes strong pace looking to reconnect, no one
can keep up, and continues alone, the move has come too late and
he will not last. Fabio attacks and drops the two from Katusha.
The Colombian is caught and passed by the leader’s quartet,
while Valverde gives up too. Dumoulin asked Chaves for help, but
he refused. There are three kilometers to go, and the GC will
