* 35+ “Wake up With Z’s” This morning category thirty five
plus woke up with the Z’s bikes song; that is go from flag down.
Ricardo Gonzalez and Ledy Alonso from performance team made the
first attempt of the day, but Ricardo’s effort behind it was for
Jose Armas to jump and go with who ever was willing to out
sprint him for white jersey points. He was able to grabbed 5
points to consolidate his lead by 7 points ahead of Ransford
from Bike America Team. Sosa always kept and eye on Zambrana, so
Gonzalez went again, but this time with Steven Mlujeak, He gave
today’s victory to Z Motion Team. The surprise of the day was
Rainier Sanchez that won the field sprint, and now is the new
Z’s rider in yellow. Let see if they will dance Z’s wake up call
this coming Sunday at the famous “dump race” to consolidate or
get a new leader.
* 45+ "Drizzle, Slippery and Fast” It did rain but after nine
o’clock this morning drizzled, that makes turning a little
dangerous, but that did not stop the fury of the forty five plus
race. Finally Javier Ortiz from Z’s bikes team was able to
consolidate his white jersey lead by winning the two
intermediate sprints. After many attempts from different riders
to breakaway, Gus Ferrer and Wills Powell, both from Bike
America Team; broke away about three laps to go, they kept the
distance to get first and second place, but not only happy with
that, Jose Mendez from the same team claimed third. Although Big
Wheel did not collect any points today, were able to maintain
first and second place over all. Vista View Park race will bring
lots of excitement to us next Sunday.
* Pro 1, 2, 3. “Milky Day” Special thanks for the cash
donated by McArthur and Jose Cuan for both primes and today’s
winnings. More “milky cash” faster they went. Yusvany Falcon
took first points/cash sprint of the day, the second one was
taken by Jose Rodriguez from team cocos. Even though Falcon
consolidated his yellow jersey today by getting second place
right after Alex Zambrana who won the race; the real fight is
for the white jersey by these two. But that will be decided
Independence Date since no points to grab at Vista View Race;
maybe Rodriguez from cocos will surprises them, since he is one
point behind in third place.
* 4&5 “Every lap a Different rider” That is the beauty of
our four and five’s race, they move so quick that every lap some
one else is at front pulling the pack. McArthur also donated
cash to the intermediate sprints for this race. Many hopes to
wear yellow put aside today. a few riders have to wait until the
two hilly climb race next Sunday, to see if the can overthrow
the current leader. He is fast but can he climb? After the
second prime Armamdo Garcia and Gregg Blow from Bike America
took off, they were chased by two other riders, but only Juan
Hernandez from team paisa went across to claimed third place
today. Hamlet kept the white jersey, but Caso is just one point
behind, He may be up for both jerseys at the end of the series.
