* 35+ The two intermediate sprints were taken by Nelson
Trujillo but Roman Morozov with two points obtained on the first
one, puts him as the current white sprinter’s jersey leader.
After the first points prime, three riders were able to
breakaway and lap the field. The strongest at the end was Victor
Herrera followed by Nelson Trujillo and Ransford Robinson.
Shannon Malmquist with his fourth place was able to keep the
yellow jersey.
* 45+ & 55+ The white jersey in this category has a
tattooed name: Jose Armas, in three races out of 18 points
available, 18 he took. Now he can relax on the intermediate
sprints and concentrate in keeping the yellow jersey that was
reclaimed with his second place of the day, behind him came for
third Javier Ortiz, but ahead of those two, after winning the
race before with plenty of energy left, Victor Herrera won the
45+. At the older but no so old group 55+, Wallie Martinez was
the winner of the day followed by Rosenthal and Craig.
* Pro 1,2,3 Difficult day at this category, strong wind
combined with a powerful field, set up a high pace that almost
half of the field could not finish the race. In a hard solo
attempt by Alex McLaughlin for many laps, gave him the two
intermediate sprints and now he is in second place, one point
behind the white points jersey leader Rosland Rivera. At the
same time he lost his yellow jersey going into third overall.
Surprisingly we have a tie between the winner and second place
of the day: Yoelsik Aira and Jake Silverberg in the general
classification. The third place at the today’s podium was gained
by Luis Zayas.
* 4&5 Cat 4&5 The race for the white jersey is
getting closer between team mates, Alfredo Diaz collected four
points and Ariel Lee did the same, still one point separate
them. Eight riders got clear from the bunch, but at the end Joel
Borego jumped them and in a solo lapped the field, while the
rest of the break kept ahead of the bunch, at the final lap
Ariel Lee took second place followed by Alfredo Diaz. Since many
riders moved to cat 3, finally we have a leader… Ariel Lee!
