* 35+ Cloudy and rainy morning was on the menu for the 35+
category. Roman Morozov came to defend the white jersey but
Trujillo also came to give him a fight for it, indeed it was
with 5 points each. The battle is not over and the show shall
continue in Central Broward with one point deference. One of the
closest stage finishes ever was given to us between the winner
of the day Victor Herrera and the current leader Shannon
Malmquist, a couple of centimeters made the difference.
* 45+ & 55+ Jose Armas came to defend both jerseys and he
did it. The sprinters jersey already secured, gave him more room
to save energy to win the day and consolidate yellow as well.
From a breakaway of 5 riders Nelson Trujillo on his second race
of the day got second place followed by Jorge Garcia. The 55+
category is getting tighter, Wallie Martinez with three straight
victories is now just one point behind the current leader
Charles Rosenthal, can Wallie move up to get the lead? Sunday we
will know.
* Pro 1,2,3 The Sun came up to shine on a small field of
strong riders. The fight for yellow was up for grabs and Yoelkis
Aira did it to perfection, Broke away with Andrew Geffner to lap
the field, win the day and wear yellow. A Pro Colombia racer,
Cristian Rios in his debut here came in third place by winning
the bunch sprint. Roslan Rivera kept his sprinter’s white jersey
and is ahead by two points over his team mate Aira.
* 4&5 Cat 4&5 Fabulous team work from team
cornerstone, they had both, white and yellow jerseys. Both
leaders managed to breakaway with two other riders and lapped
the field, but in between, Alfredo Diaz lost the white jersey to
his team mate Ariel Lee, that at the same time lost his yellow
jersey to the winner of the day Diaz followed by Carlos Fuentes
and Alexis Cespedes in third place. Only one name will go to
hall of fame of the series, which one of the two of them will be
for each jersey?
