*35+ Two teams with a mission, Cocos and Velo Masters, one to
keep yellow and the other one to take it. Quintero from Cocos
had double duty since he had both jerseys. By taken five points
on the two intermediate sprints He was able to keep the white
sprinter’s jersey. Now the challenge was to keep the yellow
jersey. Velo Master brought a complete team to help Gonzalez,
and they did excellent job covering all breaks and keeping their
team’s leader at front at all times. The final sprint was
decided right at the finish line; Julio Rojas from Pink Panthers
Team won the race for a couple of inches from Quintero that kept
his yellow jersey. Third place was for Willie Gonzalez.
*45+ Bike America Team has a new powerful engine by the name
of Kenneth Helms. After a few months off the bike He came back
extremely strong. With a good team behind him, He was able to
keep the white sprinter’s jersey for a margin of fifteen points
over Wills Powell. With a victory on the fourth race of the
series, He secured first place overall. Second place for the day
as well for GC was for his team mate Powell. Closing the top
three for both day and GC as well, was for Peter Aldridge from Z
Motion Team.
*Pro 1, 2, 3 Off the bike we all are good friends, but when
we get to the start line everything changes, the so called
friends now are rivals. That is what happened last Sunday
between GM Bikes and Team Cocos. Both of them with one sight on
mind, yellow. Previous advantage in points gained gave the
opportunity to Caso from GM Bikes team to consolidate victory
for series one. Team Cocos drove the race as the pleased. They
took top three places, but David Cueli was one point short to
tie the leader in first place. Joel Barros from Sun Cycling team
with a hard effort by keeping close eye to Steven Mlujeak from
Bike America team was able to take home the first sprint’s
jersey of the year.
*4&5’s Before the race GM bikes had secured the yellow
jersey, the question was who will wear it at the end of the
series between Rodriguez and Bermudez. The challenge was on the
white point’s jersey, they were looking to take that from Rivera
racing for Sun Cycling team. But Sun Cycling came prepare for
the battle. Revera took one point and his team mate Sanchez took
four leaving not enough for Rodriguez on his quest for both
jerseys. A breakaway from Posueco and Alfonso, both of them from
GM Bikes gave to this team the day’s victory. In a solo attempt
by Franky Gonzalez from Hollywood Big Wheel to catch the break
gave him enough room to claim third place for the day.
