* Thirty five plus open up with a fast pace. First break of
the day was formed by Cesar Sosa and Richard Diaz. Between Team
Paisa and Performance Team they were brought back. Soon after
Roman Joa, Sean Coleman and Joel Barros took off. These three
sprinted for the white jersey points won by Barros. Jorge Cortez
from Z's bikes and company worked hard to get them back to the
pack. Pace was kept hard by Performance team; Julio Cruz was at
front pulling hard. In a blink of an eye the final break formed
between Willie Gonzalez, Jose Armas Winner of the second points
prime and Steven Mlujeak. Three strong teams represented there,
(Team Paisa, Z's bikes and Z Motion). Three laps to go Ferrer
from Bike America when in a solo but soon after Barros from Sun
Cycling joined him and the two of them completed top five in
same order.
* Forty Five plus started in an unusual way slow pace,
everyone was looking at each other. Daniel Staubur did not wait
and went by himself, Hernan Perilla and Israel Vera soon joined
him. Between these three Vera won the first prime. Bike America
team worked with Performance Team to get those three riders
back. They were together for the next fifteen minutes and the
second prime was for Vera again, now He has the white jersey
with 6 points. Ferrer made a move taking Rosenthal, Pichardo,
Julien and Benitez. Right after Martinez, Beltran, Crement,
Mendes and perilla joined them. The last two to jump from the
pack to get across were Vera and Carlos both from Team Paisa.
This break of twelve riders was gone. In the final lap Ferrer
pushed the pedal to the metal took first place in a solo, the
sprint for second place and for less than a half wheel, was
taken by Wallie Martinez from Charles Rosenthal. Fourth and
fifth were for Team Paisa’s riders Israel Vera and Peter Carlos.
* Pro 1, 2, 3. Team Cocos still the strongest team out there
in this category. First break of the day was composed by six
riders, four of them from Team Cocos. If someone else dare to go
without two or three “cocos” no can do, because they chase you
hard. First prime was for Gerardo Rodriguez from Cocos. The
second break was formed by Armas, Powell, Rullo, Martinez,
Coleman and Zayas. It last only until the second prime that was
won by Armas. They were pulled back by Luis Miguel, Jesus
Rodriguez, Nate Alder and Daniel Klein from Germany. The final
break had five Team Cocos and Yusvany Falcon, somehow He always
manage to be up there. Yosmany Pol out sprinted Yusvany Falcon
from Bahati Team; to win the first yellow jersey of series III.
Third place was for Hector Pastorino, followed by Ortelio Marin,
and closing the top five was Leynier Alonso.
* 4 & 5’s First break was formed by Abdel Salas, Jorge Nuevas,
Brismelt Oqendo, Jake Silverberg and Scott Wood, but strong pull
from Ahmed Lopez followed it Hernan Ramirez brought them back to
the pack. The first prime was for Nuevas. Right after that a
break of three riders went a way for good, as the laps went by
they increased their lead. Juan Hernandez from team Paisa took
the second prime. Back in the pack Hernandez’s team mates did
excellent job holding the pack, Daniel Barrera went many times
by himself but could not make it. Later on Hernan Ramirez was
able to go in a solo for about three laps to take fourth place,
closing the top five was Luis Iturralde from Velo’s Cyclery
Team,
