* 35+ A cold morning in South Florida kept many a little bit
longer en bed, so this race started 15 minutes later than usual.
JF Rodriguez took the first intermediate sprint to consolidate
his white sprinter’s jersey, now is ahead of JA Rodriguez by 4
points. The fight for yellow still closed between the two
Rodriguez, separated by one point only, between first and second
place. The winner of the day was G Moore followed by JA and JF.
Next. GC to close the series will be very interesting if P
Sansbury that is tie in second place shows up to the challenge.
* 45+ & 55+ Strong field today, and no one challenge to J
Armas on the sprinter’s white jersey, he is nine points ahead of
C Ortiz in second place, the no need for more points, gives him
the opportunity to concentrate in getting yellow for his team.
GC is close with a tie on first place; S Redman by winning the
day is closer to yellow. Two team mates took the next two places
at the podium, “double RR” R Robinson and J Lyon. On the 55+
race the winner was M Mosquera and F Craig with his second place
kept the yellow jersey.
* Pro 1,2,3 In the absences of the leader and his team mate,
the day was wide open to E Lopez to conquer the day and the
yellow jersey, and he did it on the biggest field of the day. V
Herrera with his second place of the day moved up to third place
on GC. C Sosa closed the last step at the podium. JA Rodriguez
won one intermediate sprint and second on the other one to get a
solid lead on the white sprinter’s jersey. Next race the fight
will be for second and third place overall.
* Cat 4&5 The good weather is back for an exciting career. A
strong group took the turn to push the pedals; F Costa won the
first intermediate sprint from E Lopez, first and second place
respectively in the classification of the white jersey. The
current leader by taken second place in the race IV, is
unattainable for anyone to take his yellow jersey. The struggle
for the next two steps of the podium places on GC, is for four
riders close to each other by the minimum difference, a race to
see in the conclusion of series one.
* Juniors The junior series began at Piccolo Park with 3
categories. In the age group 6 to 9 we had 5 riders and the
winner was Eren Ahmet. The next group was 10 to 12 with two
participants and the winner was Ryan Heron. The last age group
of the day with 3 riders was taken by Marcel Maldonado.
