* We are in the home stretch; this Friday begins the Giro D”Italia. Time to talk about favorites, for starter the home boy, Ivan Basso age 36 two times winner, 2006 and 2010; matured and experienced racer with the help of Koch, Longo and Moser is seeking with all hometown supporters behind him, his third win. Another experienced rider at 37 from Australia, Cadel Evans would like to overcome last year’s third place, of course with the assistant of his lieutenant Sami Sanchez. We cannot left out the Spaniards, the deck of cards has been thrown with Joaquin Rodriguez, 34 nickname “purito” already tasted the podium back in 2012 on second place; with Moreno, Vicioso and Caruso next to him, is the man to beat. Closing the list, we have two Colombians, Rigoberto Uran, 27 years old with his new team Omega Pharma is looking to improve last year’s second place, four Belgian, two Italians, one Dutch and one Polish, are going to make sure that at end of the road, they could say “mission accomplished”. Another South American, Nairo Quintana only 24 years old, is the hope to see the first Latino touching the sky from the highest possible podium place. Castroviejo became his right hand, adding the help of another four Spaniards, two Italians and the Costa Rican Amador; we could witness how history is written one more time from the Italian roads.
 
* Ya estamos en la recta final, este viernes comenzamos con el Giro d”Italia. Empezáremos mencionando entre los favoritos al de casa, la afición italiana se la juega este año con Iván Basso que a sus 36 años de edad cuenta con la madurez y experiencia necesaria para que con el apoyo de Koch, Longo y Moser pueda conquistar su tercera corana después de ganar el 2006 y 2010. Otro experimentado corredor es Cadel Evans de 37 años, con la ayuda de Sami Sánchez espera superar su tercer puesto del año pasado. No podemos dejar afuera a los españoles, esta vez la carta esta jugada con “purito” que con la ayuda de Moreno, Vicioso y Caruso es el hombre a derrotar, Joaquín Rodríguez (34) ya saboreo el podio Italiano en el 2012 con un segundo puesto. Cerrando la lista tenemos a dos Colombianos, Rigoberto Uran (27) en su nueva escuadra, Omega Pharma; quien intentara superar el segundo lugar que ocupo el año pasado, con cuatro Belgas, dos Italianos un Holandés y un Polaco entregaran todo para cumplir esta misión. El otro suramericano es Nairo Quintana de 24 años, para muchos la esperanza de ver al primer latinoamericano tocar el cielo desde la posición más alta del podio, Castroviejo se convirtió en su mano derecha y con la ayuda de otros cuatro españoles, dos italianos y el Costa Rícense Amador; veremos cómo se hace historia una vez más en las carreteras Italianas.
