Series I Race IV @ Central Broward

Lauderhill, FL, April 1st, 2014

*35+ Strong wind from the north brought us a tough sprinter’s fight. Only one point difference was increased to three on the intermediate sprints between current white leader JA Rodriguez and A Hulscher from Cool Beans. A break of three composed of those two sprints, gave us for less than a half a wheel R Robinson from Cycle Depot as winner, followed by Rodriguez and Hulsscher. Changes on GC: Rodriguez is the new man in yellow, quadruple tie on second place will bring us an exciting series finale next Sunday at Piccolo.
*45+ & 55+ Sprinter’s jersey has no challenge here; J Armas has enough points to take it home. Two men break took off early in the race. K Schofield won the day and consolidated his GC first place. Second place of the day was for Armas that now sits third overall. Last podium step was for C Rosenthal. 55+ category gave us M Mosquera as the race winner that still is the yellow jersey leader, R Abreu got double second place, for the day and on GC. Third place podium was for J Creavalle.
*Pro 1, 2, 3 A cool strong breeze from the north gave no place to hide. Cross winds east-west and vise versa in addition to strong jumps, destroyed the rhythm of the bunch. JA Rodriguez got both intermediate springs and ties white and yellow leader Y Falcon. Three men break decided the outcome of the race; Rodriguez took the final sprint from H Gunter, followed by A Tavarez. GC still open for grabs, top two tied on points, next two also tied just one point behind, this will take us until final sprint to crown the series winner.
*4&5 Sprinter’s jersey changed hands; H Pages took five out six possible points to get in white. In a solo break the current leader R Ramirez could not be brought back by the pack. As the laps pass by his pace kept increasing the gap. The bunch sprint for second place was much closer for three riders that within inches places were decided, H Pages took it, and last step on the podium was for H Rendon than now sits second overall two points behind.
