Series I Race III @ Piccolo

Copper City, FL, Mar 16th, 2014

*35+ Windy and sunny morning in South Florida brought us a big filed for this category. The fight for white sprinter’s jersey still on between JA Rodriguez and A Hulscher from Cool Beans, only on point separate them. So, four more sprints pending at this series to see who will be the winner of the series. GC had change due to a break of five without the leader; G Moore wins the day followed by L Contreras and N Trujillo. H Rendon still in yellow but Trujillo closed the gap, now on second place two points behind.
*45+ & 55+ 18 miles per hour wind and a high pace gave to seven strong riders the facility to say away from the pack most of the race; all points for sprinter’s jersey were taken by J Armas that consolidated his first place on this category. The “seven strong” decided not to lap the field so they can sprint by their selves, I Franco took first place followed by R Hernandez, and closing the podium in third place we had K Schofield that now becomes the new yellow jersey leader. On the 55+ race it was just a matter of surviving the initial difficult first 10 laps and wait for the final sprint. M Mosquera wins the day and takes the yellow jersey from his team mate H Perilla that moved to second overall. D Julian takes second for the day, followed by R Abreu that now sits third overall.
*Pro 1, 2, 3 Wind continues been a good companion to the strong riders, a break of 14 got away with the top contenders. Y Falcon takes the sprinter’s jersey and keeps as well the yellow jersey. Six riders chase the break, but the break lapped the field, at this time six riders only from the original bunch broke away again coughing the six chasers, final lap, bell rings and R Rivera takes the win, followed by L Zayas and J Silverberg that soon will be racing Paris Roubaix U21 with the USA National Juniors Team.
*4&5 Finally sprinter’s jersey gets untied, the white leader now is with O Martinez, but still second place has another triple tie, the fight still on for the next two events with four sprints up for grabs. Current leader R Ramirez and H Rendon managed to breakaway and they lapped the field, Rendon wins the day and gets just one point behind the leader, which got second place for the day. L Perez on a fast bunch sprint closes the top three at the podium.
