*35+ L Rios was able to keep his white jersey by winning the
first intermediate sprint and placing second on the second one.
G Moore from Bike America and S Gilligan broke away from the
pack, but only Moore was able to hold and won the day. Second
place was C Sosa, followed by JF Rodriguez both from EBP Team. I
Franco moved to third place overall, ahead on second place was
his team mate B Reeves, and the winner of the series was Nelson
Trujillo from TAS Team.
*45+ & 55+ The expected race of the day, triple tie on
first place, and the white jersey already secure by J Armas from
GS Palm Beach Team. A breakaway of six riders formed, the only
one missing from the top three on GC was Armas. Now it was
between Reeves and Ortiz, but then Franco and Ferrer launch an
attack to made it one and two for the day. The rest of the break
got caught but C Ortiz from Ghost Riders placed forth and got
enough points to claim the final yellow jersey for series II. On
the 55+ category M Mosquera kept yellow followed by F Craig, and
closing the GC podium was F Vasquez.
*Pro 1,2,3 The white jersey exchange hands at the end of the
day. The winner of this classification end up been J Rodriguez,
from Performance Team. Two Russians National Team members racing
for Atomic Team came to race with us; I Kovalev dominated the
day by winning the race, one intermediate sprint and second on
the second one. Glad to have such level of cyclist from time to
time so our local riders can compare abilities with them. N
Trujillo by placing second for the day was able to jump into
third place overall. P Sansbury kept his second place on GC. Y
Aira from Bike Street team was the overall winner of series II.
*4&5 JA Rodriguez from Velo Master has not challenge for
the white jersey points at this final race of the series. A
break of three formed and was too late for the bunch to bring
them back. C Castellanos won the day followed by R Moreno with
Sun Cycling and S Sanchez racing for Galiz team, to close the
podium. Second and third place were tie on points, between C
Canales and R Gonzales. Two riders were chasing the break but
one lap to go C Canales started chasing those two. This chase
gave him fourth place to take three points and secure second
place overall. The winner of the series for just one point was
Nelson Rolo from Colavita Team.
