Series III, Race I

Miami Lakes, FL. July 2410th. 2011

*35+ This is the first race of the third series at the current year and the last chance to qualify for the season finale. The early rain in the morning kept many riders inside their cars, but a few brave ones came out and race. A couple of laps into the race and two riders got clear from the bunch, C Hoch and R Morozov. Hoch’s team mates shut down the pack, but M Luis went in a solo effort to chase them; and this is how the entire race went on. Morozov won both intermediate sprints as well as the race. Hoch did the same but for second place; and Luis in a solo got third.

For the final lap the sprint for victory is between Helm and Vera, for about half wheel Helms gets yellow in addition to the white jersey. Third place a few meters behind was for W Martinez, followed by S Wood and C Gomez to close the top five.

Fifth place for a couple of inches was taken by Zayas from D Cueli. The pack sprint was for D Mosquera.
*Cat 4 & 5 This is the first race of the third series at the current year and the last chance to qualify for the season finale. For the first intermediate sprint A Fundora in a solo took first place. At the second one a break of seven riders decided not to sprint and rather to keep a good pace, therefore Castellanos took it. The final sprint and the yellow jersey goes to Y Bermudez followed by E Ortiz, C Castellanos, to close the top three places.
