* 35+ "none stop attacks" very intense race Antonio Quintero
jump strongly bringing with him Roman Joa, Roman Morozov and
Richard Diaz but soon after they got caught. Leonardo Martinez
was not able to keep his yellow jersey by not placing top five
even though he worked hard the entire race. Joel Barros by
placing third took the final yellow jersey home. Not only happy
with that, he took the white jersey as well; difficult task to
be accomplished not many riders had been able to done it before.
Joa took first place today, followed by Quintero.
* 45+ “Conservative race" big wheel team played save. They
sent other team members to do the work while Martinez kept an
eye on Rosenthal, three points ahead was enough room to take the
third straight yellow jersey this year. Javier Ortiz was looking
to move to second place overall; unfortunately by placing fourth
he was one point short to complete his task. Not much to discuss
about the points jersey, since Vera was way ahead of his team
mate Jose Hernandez in second place. Many riders were looking as
the last chance to qualify to the finals. About three laps to go
three riders were clear from the pack with enough room to gained
top three spots, Nivio Diaz took first place followed by Jose
Mendez and closing was Alberto Medero.
* "Long trip" wearing yellow sometimes it changes your
responsibilities. Current leader and final winner of series III
drove from Tampa at two AM after racing up there the day before.
He could not resist to be crown as an “absent king" even thought
he had enough point to kept his yellow jersey. Martinez also was
able to go to the hall of fame as the winner of the white jersey
for this series. After a fast race a group of three riders broke
away from the field Gerardo Rodriguez out sprinted Alejandro
Garcia and Osvaldo Delgado took third place.
* “Show of the date" for many spectators the four and five
race was the one to watch. Isniel Hernandez was in a quest to
recover yellow he did many attempt in a solo, for a moment we
though he had made but the pack brought him back. In the other
hand Jorge Nuevas was looking to kept his first ever white
jersey and proudly he did. The surprise of the date was a first
time racer, at least with us, by the name of Alex Fix in a five
men sprint, took victory for half a wheel from Damian Serrania.
We hope to see many more new riders like Alex in the future.
