* 35+ The “fight” for white and yellow has been very
interesting to watch between JA and JF Rodriguez. Within the
mix: Quintero, Armas and Morozov are getting in there too. In
the absence of the leader right before the race, now we have a
tie for the yellow jersey, but on the sprinters jersey Jose
Frank in the new leader. Next race at Central Broward June 28th
we will see how it gets untie, with the hope that the former
leader will come to race to make it more interesting.
* 45+ & 55+ Wm The fastest average recorded at the 45+
race on the biggest field of the day, it happened last Sunday,
they had 28.7 MPH average, I was told by some riders. Incredible
pace where the “old” guys, that is 55+ and the women stayed
together. The white sprinter’s jersey did not have any changes,
but new contenders are now in place to challenge it. V Herrera
played well with the numbers and was able to keep the yellow
jersey, but ghost riders are getting close; while J Armas took
the day followed by J Ortiz and L Rodriguez. The oldest category
had a winner, under the name of A MacFarlane, but F Vasquez is
the new leader. On the women division, R Mok won the day and A
Martinez leads ahead of her on GC by one point.
* Pro 1,2,3 No resting time, from the start we saw jump after
jump. E Lopez was able to get one single point on the white
sprinter’s jersey competition, just to keep it for the next two
weeks. Finally right after the first intermediate sprint two
riders got away, R Companoni and J Silverberg. The field is now
composed of three groups, and the two leaders lapped the last
bunch. They are about one minute ahead of what is left from the
main group; no one gains or takes time away. For the final
sprint Ruben easily wins the day from Jake, but for third place,
in a very close sprint, a pro Colombian rider visiting us (E
Pulgarin), beat them on the line (S Morfin and JF Rodriguez).
* Cat 4&5 A solid group of racers at the most emotive
race of the day, of course no crashes as some wrongly may
advertize for this category, by the contrary we notices a very
well handle bunch of riders, that gift us, with two amazing
intermediate sprints, where E Zugor maintained the white jersey,
but not only happy with that, now is the yellow jersey leader as
well. The winner of the day was L Perez followed by K Sakai and
E Lopez.
* Kids Race The best for last, the future of cycling takes
the line, Kids from age 6 to 17, raced into 4 different groups,
and winners were T Glock (6-9) L Corrigan (10-12) M Maldonado
(13-15) and A Supik (16-17)
