*40+ New series, new faces. Three riders tied up with three points each on first place for the sprinter’s white jersey. J Rodriguez from Velo Masters, J Garcia from Ghost Riders and G Guzman from Cool Beans will fight for this jersey next time at Piccolo after a break for the sprinters at vista view park race. The bunch came together for the final sprint, the winner of the day and new leader T Hancock racing for One Sport was followed by C Sosa from Galiz Tea, closing the top three was C Wright from Performance Team.
*50+ Pleasant surprise, a USA Olympian and old friend Carl Sundquist came down to Florida to join us on our races, he brought good memories and victories on this very same course from 20 years ago. For those riders that remember him, they sat on his wheel waiting for a good sprint. C Rosenthal took four points on the primes to take the white jersey. Not only happy with that, he took the final sprint to take also the yellow jersey followed by W Martinez from Big Wheel Sunrise. Third place of the day was for another Olympian, Jamaican P Aldridge racing now for Performance Team.
*Pro 1,2,3 We got what we did not expect, lots of rain. The new Cuban National Team member R Companioni that defected in Canada; while training/racing for the London Olympic Games took the sprinters jersey today. He also sits third on the overall classification by winning the bunch sprint. D Cueli racing for Cocos, on an extraordinary solo effort won the race and now is the current leader. Second place also on a solo attempt chasing Cueli was Y Tsang from Flying Ace Team.
*4&5 What a comeback! After a very bad crash at this very same course; A cattani racing for EBP Team took the bunch for surprise by jumping after the second prime and that was it. He won the race on a solo break; been applause as he crossed the finish line, for a well deserve victory to the new yellow jersey leader. Second place was for W Loheide, followed by J Cabrera. A Yaques took four points at the primes to claim the white leader’s jersey.
