Pro 1-2 Bike America Team Cocos @ Miami Lakes

Miami Lakes FL October 10. 2010

* “10-10-10 a date to remember” Pro 1-2 race gave us the best that it can be in a hundred minute event. From lap one, they started with the glorious sound of the bell, first four laps had prime prizes; plus the addition of two big ones, at mid race and near the end of the even. Small breaks formed throughout the race, but they were closed within a lap. The bunch this time of the year still very strong, two many teams had all their marbles into the game. At the beginning Chavez and Henao were ahead, but Gonzalez, Trujillo and Marin pulled them back. Next, Hermanni in a solo was caught by Dowling and Chavez. Then Tsang and Rullo went, but Martinez and Guttenplan closed the gap. Later on Hansley, Sosa, Lavinsky and Marin gave it a try; Martinez, Quintero and Rodriguez were blocking the bunch without good results, the little break ended up back in the pack. Now Tavarez in a solo was chased by Hermanni and Landrove. Mid race Marin went in a solo, chasing him was Garcia, but Schurman followed by Franco brought these two back to the pack. Then Dowling and Schurman broke away, in a solo effort Guttenplan chased them; a few meters behind were Martinez and Lopez, but between Schofield, Landrove, Pollydore and Trujillo all of them came back. As you may see to many solo attempts as they continued by Quintero, Marin, Martinez, Adler and Deluise. Three laps to go some interested riders started to move to the from of the pack, a little break composed by Herrera, Alonso, Tsang, Garcia, Martinez and Joa had a gap, but Hermanni, Lavinsky and Pardo were in front of the pack closing the gap. Next time the passed by we had “grupo compacto” been driven by Quintero, Sosa, Seepersaud, Garcia, Hermanni and Franco. Durango was seated comfortable in position fourteen. The bell rang, final lap and the final sprint was up for grabs, every one looking at the race started “betting” who the winner will be. No surprise, John Durango was way ahead of the bunch to win the race, leaving second place to Chavez, followed by Marin a bike length behind to closed top three.
