A triple tie unrolled without one of them; therefore the battle
was between N. Trujillo and J. Armas. A breakaway of five
without them, it looked that all points were gone, but out of
the blue those two started a chase and soon joined the front
group. Now seven strong riders will decide the race and the
series. For the day with a difference of 25” two of them fought
for the sprint, Y Aira was the strongest with a second place for
Mr G (Hermanni). J Armas with his third place became the winner
of the series

A missing leader left the door open to W. Cuello to win the
series. He asked me before the race, if I win today, will I win
the series? I told him Gus is not here, and he replied “I Know”
then I said yes… and he delivered by 3 hundredths of a second or
a bike length over S. Mlujeak, third place of the day was for C
Fuentes. The old guys’ category had a point difference between
first and second place. The only way to beat the leader was to
place a rider between the winner of the day, W. Martinez and the
second place of the day, the current leader F. Craig; but big
wheel couldn’t do it, therefore the winner of the series for the
same amount of points was for Craig. The rule was written 17
years ago, to overcome a current leader, any given rider seeking
to get to first place, needs to get ahead in the amount of
points.

A duo formed by Campbell and Minier broke away early in the race
with a good gap, a chase started by another duet (Silverberg and
Mlujeak) slowly but surely caught them and we ended up with four
riders at front. The Current leader of both jerseys did not have
to worry about losing them since no one was close to him to
jeopardize the white and yellow. The final sprint for about half
of a bike length was taken by Campbell from Minier. A second
later, for third place we had Silverberg.
Cat 3 points. Under goodwill from rider's suggestion, we decided
to keep track of points for cat 3 riders to give them a leader’s
jersey at the end of the series, with only one requirement, to
have at least 10 cat 3 riders; at every race, although we did
not have the amount of riders needed, we kept the points and
granted the jersey. I would like to clarify that: we never
offered anything more than the jersey. The winner of the series
for category 3 was D. Ceballo followed by K. Sakai in second
place and third step in the podium was for J. Bomnin.

Total domination from Cornerstone Team. The day was decided from
a breakaway of five riders that were ahead for 1’30” from the
main pack. R. Artiga in a solo by 6” took the win. On a close
sprint, and touching elbows G. Borrego took second place,
leaving the last step on the day’s podium to A. Diaz. Top three
on the general classification and top two for the sprinter’s
white jersey were taken by Cornerstone Team, congratulations.
The challenge is open from them to the third series.
