*35+ Most of the climber’s points were taken by J A Rodriguez
from Velo Master, but N Trujillo already secure the polka dot
jersey for this season. Hard pace made the field split into
three groups J A Rodriguez with T Sanders from Bike Street broke
away been chased by Contreras, Merlos, Rodriguez, Herrera and
Rojas. For the final sprint Rodriguez out sprinted his escape
companion. J F Rodriguez from EBP team by placing fifth was able
to take over the leader’s yellow jersey.
*45+ & 55+ S Mlujeak crowned himself as the KOM for 2013
by breaking the triple point tie we had before the race; but not
happy with that, he is now the new guy in yellow at this
division. I Franco punctured two laps to in the 35+ race while
he was in the breakaway group, but now he won in a solo the 45+
race. Second place was for Mlujeak racing for Stradalli followed
by W Powell “papi” from Bike America. On the 55+ category M
Mosquera from Big wheel Sunrise got first and completing the
podium two team mates, F Vasquez and R Ortiz.
*Pro 1,2,3 Talented field today, M Henao took two points on
the KOM points to be the champ on this category this season.
Nine guys broke away from the field, then a couple of riders
jumped but they were recaptured by the group. One lap to go…
next time around R Companioni from Jamis team in a solo cross
the line to win the race. A few meters behind J F Rodriguez from
EBP outsprinted P Sambury to claim second place. From there on
they came one by one. R Rivera from Bike Street managed to keep
in yellow by placing fifth.
*4&5 This was a RWC race, rain, wind and climbs, but at
the end a shiny day. J A Rodriguez had enough points accumulated
to keep the final polka dot jersey for this season. Six rides
managed to break from the fields, C Fuentes won the two
intermediate KOM points. One lap to go, A Enriquez from Top dog
cycle went in a solo to win the race. For second place, a close
sprint taken by C Fuentes from TAS team, followed by A Osorio
from Andante/Patches team, this third placing gave Osorio first
place overall, now he is in yellow. The fight continues, two
riders tie in points are in second place, Lamy and Abbate; then
two more riders also tie on points in third place. The
difference between first, second and third is just one point,
this race is the one to watch next time at Miami Lakes.
