*40+ Chilly but not cold because after the race started,
everybody gets warm. Sunny 48 degree morning began with 40+
race. A few short attempts of riders seeking to breakaway, but
not enough room given to open a good gap. 30 minutes into the
race, and we had the idea of a finish all together, C Wright
getting back his sprinting quality wins the day followed by the
ex-pro, H Rendon. Third place of the day was for his team mate W
Loheide. R Robinson kept on top of GC and N Trujillo gets second
overall four points behind.
*50+ Getting warmer by the minute. High pace imposed by
Andante/Patches team from the start, made the field forget about
the weather. The bunch was looking to not let go anyone today.
In fact first serious break between F Angel and JF Hernandez,
joining later on by JM Hernandez was closed quickly by the pack.
Everybody sits and wait for the final sprint. It was just who
fights best for position, C Rosenthal takes first, consolidating
his leader position, second place was for M Behrens, closing the
last place at the podium we had P Aldridge that now is second
overall.
*Pro 1,2,3 Ideal racing weather for this field, by the way
the biggest of the day. They started real fast, lap after lap
they were on indian file, speeds over 30 miles per hour, but
when they slowed down a little bit, five riders broke away.
Looks like the bunch gave up, then Y Tsang and N Trujillo jumped
and from twenty nine second deficit got to only twelve, but not
enough time to close that gap. Final sprint, and the winner of
the day was J Navarro (Pepe) followed by R Delsol (churrasco),
final place at the podium for only a couple inches difference
was for JA Rodriguez (El Viandero). P Sansbury still the current
leader but now E Lopez and Pepe are tied in second place just
three point behind.
*4&5 An early break was able to lap the field. Mid race
they were about thirty second ahead of two riders chasing and
the pack another thirty seconds behind chasing the chasers.
After the break lapped the field the real race was for third and
fourth place, the two Andante/patches riders fought until the
very end, they got caught 200 meters from the finish line at the
end of the final sprint, what a good show of racing. Nelson Rolo
still the current leader, but today’s winner R Ramirez is now
second overall. Second place of the day was for Y Llorens. The
field sprinted for third place, it was taken by H Rendon.
