*Master A
Warmer weather brought more rides and this time no breakaway to
lap the field. J Armas in a solo a little over halfway through
went by himself to win the day 24 seconds ahead of the pack. The
Bunch sprint was taken by R Robinson followed by J Cabrera to
complete the podium. In addition to Armas’ victory on race one;
he maintains the lead on the GC followed by JA Rodriguez and N
Diaz. K Abbate after attempted a solo break at the beginning of
the race kept his first place on the 50+ GC. For the day J Ortiz
won his category followed by A Teixeira and I Vera.
*Master B
J Borrego unbeatable two wins out of two, the final sprint of
the 40+B was taken by him with a two second split to second
place M Leyva and 3 more seconds behind was on third we had K
Jambretz. The GC is in the same order. In reference to the 50+ B
P Perry continues his domination with two wins, second place of
the day was for T Hotenbrink followed by J Zevallos
*Elite
The main event of the day stepped up one notch. Stradalli team
brought us the best of the best, his professional team to give
us a show like we have not seen in many years in our streets. In
the company of All 4 cycling, Vivo Cycling, D Proffesional and
many more local teams that escape my memory, we witness a fast
and fierce race; under a criterium as technical as the Piccolo
we saw a few laps as they reached close to 60 kilometers of
average speed or one minute per lap. Many attempted and jumped
seeking to breakaway, but stradalli in a high rhythm simply
brought each one of them back, this process made the most
important men to give it all and not to finish the race due to
the great effort called team work. An iron nerve finish deliver
us as winner, the pro rider from Germany F Knauer followed 4
seconds later by the former professional cyclist from Colombia A
Zambrana, the third place 9 seconds behind to close the podium
was for who is currently the series leader, the Cuban Luis Zayas
who over the years has shown us his great quality. We have to
note the tenacity of all those who belong to a growing category
3, who within of this field managed to be side by side with the
best of the best that we could call our elite. We cannot fail to
mention the general classification of this group led by a tie
between J Gonzalez and A Lee.
*Men
Cat 4& 5 still very entertaining event within a strong field no
one could get away. The “New Yorker” J Garcia demonstrated to
continue been the fastest rider at this field by taken his
second victory in a row. This time second place was for F Garcia
followed by Y Acanda. The general classification is becoming
interesting and open since the current leader is going back to
his home town and second place has a tie between M Anderson and
Y Acanda, in addition to it, third place also show F Garcia and
JeanLuc with the same amount of points, a race to see next
Sunday.
