* 35+ The new course at Piccolo brought new speed to the
race. JA Rodriguez from Rossetti, took both intermediate
sprints, and sits second overall on the white jersey
classification just one point behind the current leader. A
breakaway of seven kept it all the way to the end. JA Rodriguez
managed to go solo and win the race, followed by A Hulscher
racing from Cool Beans Team also in a solo; the sprint for third
was taken by G Moore (Cycle Depot Team). GC had no change on the
top three and JF Rodriguez still the man in yellow.
* 45+ & 55+ After the first intermediate sprint, the
bunch “exploded into pieces” the combination of high speed and
strong winds made it difficult and we had dropped riders left
and right. A breakaway of three made it to the end, K Schofield
and his team mate I Franco from Bike Street team took first and
second, last place of the podium was for G Ferrer. J Ortiz
stills the white jersey leader, two points ahead of J Armas. In
reference to the yellow jersey, C Ortiz untied the top of the
classification, and has 3 more points that W Martinez. On the
55+ the only one that managed to finish with the bunch to win
the day was R Abreu from all 4 cycling racing team, that now
sits second overall, Mosquera continues as the leader.
* Pro 1,2,3 A field of 35 strong riders faced the wind and
this new course, where high speed dictated the race’s pace.
Sprinter’s white jersey classification moved JA Rodriguez to
second place just one point behind current leader. Seven riders
broke away from the bunch, but G Bianchi surprised them, when he
went in a solo to win the race. Y Falcon on a solid sprint took
second place followed by S Mlujeak; that now moves up into
second place on the overall classification. The battle for
yellow jersey will be an amazing race to watch this coming
Sunday at the famous, the one and only, Vista View climbing
circuit!
* Cat 4&5 Another race that finished on a solo, C Avila
from Cycle Depot Team took off from a breakaway group of twelve
riders that at the same time they were chased by the main field.
The current yellow leader easily took second place for the day,
followed by his team mate M Monteverde, that under good team’s
tactics, he was making sure that D Paulete (now 3rd on GC) will
not get the extra point on GC, in a way to protect his team’s
mate (W Loheide) second place overall. The sprinter’s white
jersey had a turn around, L Perez from Elvys Trucking Team, took
both intermediate sprints and now is the new leader.
