Series I Race II at Piccolo

Cooper City FL, Mar 5th, 2017

*Master A. With the high east winds not need for hills, was the quote for the second race of the series. The first event of the morning, category Masters A was broken into: 3 riders in the breakaway, another three chasing and the bunch. Interesting enough, the top seven on the road race did not get any points at Piccolo; therefore we have a tie on the top seven places. The podium of the day was for G Ferrer, J Armas and N Trujillo but O Martinez stills the current leader. In this group we had the 50+ A and the winner was J Solis followed by L Rodriguez and K Abbate. The winner of the day also was the winner of the road race; therefore he is consolidating on top of the table.
*Master B. The ravages of the wind continued, in this occasion the race got divided into three groups: seven at front, a dozen pursuing and then the peloton which was lapped by the second group that at the same time was also captured by the breakaway. As for the 40+ B G Leonardi won the stage and is now the leader, followed by M Layva and A Cancio. In the 50+ B we had 3 women, Erica Sosa placed for the day in the third position, the second place went to E Schehen and the winner was J Zevallos, but in the general classification now we have a tie between S Gilbert and E Schehen.
*Elite. As the hours passed the wind did not calm down, the time of the main event came with two riders that just arrived from training camp in Colombia, they took first and second place, we are referring to J Silverberg and R Companioni. Between the two, they lapped all the riders and the dispersed groups were placed back together in a single bunch by those two, of course many lost more than 1 lap; the last step in Pro 1-2 was for Luis Zayas and E Lopez continues as the current leader. As for category 3 the winner was Y del Toro, who remains first in the general classification, second place went to D Ceballo followed by A Lee.
*Men. The only category that survived together the high winds was the 4 & 5 which gives us more surprises each day with new riders showing up their skills. This time the turn went to L Torcat who won the day, followed by M Salazar and Y Acanda that with this third place puts him as the new leader in this growing category.
