* 35+ Jose A Rodriguez reinforced his white jersey, by
getting 5 points on the intermediate sprints to win the series.
A breakaway of eight riders got conformed after the first points
sprint; this strong group of riders was able to lap the field. Y
Aira won his 4th race, from five available, to consolidate his
yellow jersey and win the series. Second place of the day and
overall as well, was for JA Rodriguez, the last place of the
day's podium was for O Flores.
* 45+ & 55+ After a couple of laps, four rider broke away
from the pack and took all points available for the sprinter’s
jersey, where Armas and Mlujeak were tied in points; difficult
situation for Steve, since he had the same arrangement with the
yellow jersey too, but in this case with C Ortiz, tough call for
him, white, yellow or both? Looks like he let the white one to
Armas, but he kept the leader’s jersey. Three more riders bridge
the gap, all points taken. A Teixeira took away the day's
victory, to world champion W Zegers, in a close sprint, for
about half a wheel. Third place of the day was for G Ferrer. On
the 55+, P Lincoln won the day and wins the series; second place
of the day was for J Acosta, followed by his team mate H Perilla.
* Pro 1,2,3 . Another race with a closed points situation for
white and yellow jerseys. JA Rodriguez had before the race both
colors and he managed not to lose them, at the end of the race
to win the series. After the first intermediate sprint, a
breakaway of four riders were gone, another eight riders started
the chase, and then, about 30” behind we had the pack. The
breakaway lapped the tail of the race; from there A Gil jumped
his three companions, and went in a solo to win the race. Second
place of the day was for Y Aira, followed by JF Rodriguez.
* 4 & 5's Many things they had in play at this category,
before the race. Not only the sprinters white jersey and the
leader’s yellow jersey, but the overall sprinters championship
jersey as well. At the end of the journey, the race gave us new
series winners, the Yellow jersey went to K Sakai and his team
mate A Geffner claimed both, the Sprinters jersey and champion’s
jersey. In another closed sprint, for the day's race winner, it
was between C Pagan and G Smith, this gave us first and second
place, the last step of the podium was for J Boomin.
* Juniors, We had the conclusion of the juniors’ series. The
winners were: age 6 to 9 Thomas Glock, 10 to 12 Tyler Mlujeak,
13 to 15 Marcel Maldonado, 16 to 17 Ricardo Roche.
Congratulations to all the kids that participated on this event.
